Photograph the beautiful canyons and waterfalls at Starved Rock State Park as you are fully enveloped autumn color. Mike MacDonald will guide you through the canyons to dramatic and picturesque spots. (Gift Cards for this outing are available.)

During this Learning Adventure, Mike will provide guidance and help you with exposure, composition, etc. for those participants who stay with the group. And, the fun isn't over when we're done shooting. Oh, no. You'll get to show off your spiffy new images in a photo analysis session a few days later. Mike will provide constructive insights and feedback and, if necessary, suggest how to make improvements.

We will begin before dawn to avoid the crowds and the less passionate photographers who slept in. If we don't get sun, we're probably better off inside the canyons for the photos that we're intending to make. If it's a little wet, that's even better because the colors are more saturated.

NOTE: These outings are planned several months in advance based on the best available knowledge and history, but there is no way to tell what the conditions will actually be like. So, we'll be going no matter what and we'll definitely make the most of it!

Since our outings are about taking pictures, you need to be somewhat comfortable with your camera and how it works so that you can better enjoy the experience. Please read the Class Requirements for this course and feel free to email us or give us a call at 630-852-8448 if you have any questions.

LEARNING ADVENTURE AGENDA

Because of the early shooting time, we may need to gather at a common point and then carpool to the location. We will stay for approximately 4 hours and then, after the shoot, we'll go out to lunch and share our experiences. A few days later, you're invited to show off your fine photographs from the adventure at a 2-hour photography analysis session in Downers Grove.

This photography class will be limited to approximately 6 students per instructor depending on the experience level of the participants. So, please register quickly to ensure a spot.
