If you are just starting out taking nature pictures or are looking to take the next step, this workshop is designed to help you quickly and dramtically improve your nature photography.
This 2-session course walks through several simple ways for making technically and aesthetically excellent photographs. Some of the main topics include making sharp images, the 8 rules of composition that you need to know, and how to use the light to your advantage.
The workshop is creatively based and mostly non-technical. However, you must have a mastery of their camera's operation. As for equipment, you must own a camera that is serious enough to allow you to set the aperture and shutter speeds manually. It's best to have a digital SLR or an ADVANCED point-and-shoot camera.
A digital camera is usually the best learning tool because it gives you instant feedback and helps you to learn more quickly. But, if you have a film camera, you'll do fine.
The first session is a lecture and discussion to familiarize you with the techniques and fundamentals. Homework will be given and, one week later,
COURSE AGENDA
The initial session takes place at my home studio in Downers Grove. You will receive a presentation that will teach you the various fundamentals and techniques. The class is very interactive and gives lots of examples to help you absorb the information.
You will be given a homework assignment and to be finished by the second class, which is usually scheduled one week later. During this class, homework images are critqued and any remaining questions are answered.
The class will be limited to 8 to 12 students, depending on the experience level of the participants. So, please register quickly to insure a spot.
